Apocalypse is
the latest expansion for Warhammer 40k, this is a format that allows all you
veterans who have multiple armies field them all at once, or for the new people
who want to have more than one army field all those models as well.
Apocalypse is designed for large scale battles, 3000 plus points per side,
sometimes getting to 50,000 points per side. Apocalypse also lets you
field those super heavy tanks and flyers, Titans, and Gargantuan creatures.
Apocalypse also
introduced datasheets that allow special detachments from as little as 2 models
to literally hundreds of models.

The Scourging of Nat'nerac
Planetary Governor Pavel had boarded his
aquila lander under the heavy fire of Tau and Traitor orbital strikes as
well as the guns of Commissar Grigoriy. The mad man had commandeered a
bane blade in order to dissuade the deserters, and even then most knew
that the massive tank did not compare to the alien foes that would
descend on to them should they stay.
The governor looked back towards the coast from the glass copula. Rising
over horizon was a larger mushroom cloud, surely a sign that the defense
laser had been lost. Lances of fire fell from the sky as the ships in
orbit pounded the site. Pavel had never been more certain that retreat
had been the correct choice.
“Passing over Nat'nerac my Lord, about an hour till Sirap. Ground crew
informs us C’nars Pride is awaiting you for departure” crackled
the pilots voice over the comms.
Good, with any luck a small Frigate like the C’nars Pride could
drop into the warp during the battle and escape unnoticed, yes never had
he been more certain of a decision.
Thick black smoke billowed from the engines of
two red ramshackle aircraft as they closed the distance to the Aquila
lander. Criss crossing paths as if vying for position, small parts
dropping off as the fighter bombers fought to be first to engage. From
behind the cracked glass of the canopy grinned a toothy maw set under a
miss matched pair of goggles. Clenched tightly in the grimy teeth sat a
cigar that seemed to haze over the entire cockpit with acrid smoke. A
gloved hand gripped the throttle and slammed it forward with a harsh
thud. On his other gloved hand a clawed thumb that stuck threw the
glove fell on to the top of the control stick depressing a large red
button marked “Dakka”.

Didn't See That Coming!

Not On My Watch!
Things looked bleak for a minute on Bonners Reach, but we held firm with
the faith that our reinforcements would arrive. When they did,
those fettering greenskins certainly got a dose of our unforgiving
wrath. It was a beautiful sight seeing those blighters running
over the horizon. I close my eyes and that memory comforts me even
now. Its funny. Here we are, light years from the Scarus
Sector, and we find ourselves in the same position. In another
Emperor-forsaken trench, scanning the horizon with itchy fingers.
Hell, you could tell me we were still on Bonners Reach and I wouldn't
question it. The only difference between then and now is that this
time, we're on the defensive, tasked with defending the research
installations at either end of the encampment, and this time, the enemy
is a whole lot uglier. Scuttling sharp toothed beasties have been
popping up all around the perimeter, but just like last time they'll
crumble under the might of the Mordant 13th. I supposed the old
saying rungs true. The more things change, the more they stay the
same.
This is the second in the series of the Games Workshop Warhammer 40k
Apocalypse Scenarios.
